Most of you know my guilty pleasure is low budget, campy horror movies from the ’70s and ’80s. But, I have my hopes high on this remake of an absolute classic of the genre — Friday the 13th.

If you’ve ever seen the original poster you’ll understand why I am so interested in the film. It’s an absolutely gorgeous painting, fantastic design and probably one of the best wordmark/identifiers a film has ever had, especially at that time.

So, this Friday the 13th, I look forward to revisiting a film series I grew up with and was absolutely terrified by. As I got older, realized the cheese factor and became a designer I began seeing them in an all new light.

A couple of other great examples would be Phantasm, A Nightmare On Elm Street, the Evil Dead, amongst hundreds of other great examples. Contact me if you have your own suggestions or want to know some more of my own.
